Significantly, the first construction phase will begin at the intersection of National Road 6 and the entrance to SAI airport to Siem Reap downtown, right where Bakong Village is located. បន្ថែមពីលើនេះទៀត​ រាជរដ្ឋាភិបាលកម្ពុជា​ ក៏បានចុះហត្ថលេខាព្រមព្រៀងលើគម្រោងសាងសង់ផ្លូវល្បឿនលឿនខ្សែទី​ 3​ ពីក្រុងភ្នំពេញ​ ទៅខេត្តសៀមរាប (250 គីឡូម៉ែត្រ) និងពីខេត្តសៀមរាប ទៅកាន់ក្រុងបោយប៉ែត (150 គីឡូម៉ែត្រ)​ ដែលនឹងមាន​ប្រវែងសរុបប្រមាណ​ 400​ គីឡូម៉ែត្រ និងចំណាយអស់ប្រហែល 4​ ពាន់លានដុល្លារ។ ​  គម្រោងនេះ​ នឹងត្រូវបានដឹកនាំដោយក្រុមហ៊ុន China Road and Bridge Corp (CRBC) ដោយចាប់ផ្ដើមនៅខាងជើងផ្លូវក្រវ៉ាត់ក្រុងទី​ 3 រាជធានីភ្នំពេញ លាតសន្ធឹងរហូតដល់​ក្រុងប៉ោយប៉ែត។​

ការអភិវឌ្ឍបន្ថែមទៅលើប្រព័ន្ធហេដ្ឋារចនាសម្ព័ន្ឋក្នុងខេត្តសៀមរាបនេះ មិនត្រឹមតែជួយសម្រួលទៅដល់ចរាចរណ៍ប៉ុណ្ណោះទេ ប៉ុន្តែថែមទាំងផ្ដល់ឱកាសក្នុងវិស័យដូចជា៖

  • ជួយសម្រួលដល់លទ្ធភាពប្រើប្រាស់ឲ្យបានប្រសើរឡើង៖ ការមានហេដ្ឋារចនាសម្ព័ន្ឋល្អ នឹងផ្ដល់ភាពងាយស្រួលដើម្បីធ្វើដំណើរទៅកាន់ផ្នែកផ្សេងៗនៃប្រទេស ជួយជំរុញដល់វិស័យទេសចរណ៍ក្នុងប្រទេស
  • បង្កើនតម្លៃអចលនទ្រព្យ៖ តំបន់មួយដែលមានប្រព័ន្ធផ្លូវល្អ នឹងទាក់ទាញបុគ្គល ឬអាជីវកម្មបានកាន់តែច្រើន ធ្វើឲ្យអចលនទ្រព្យក្នុងតំបន់នោះកាន់តែឡើងថ្លៃ

The Cambodian government has put out a plan to expand National Road 6, which runs through Phnom Penh and five provinces – Kandal, Kampong Cham, Kampong Thom, Siem Reap, and Banteay Meanchey. The announcement of this plan was made by Prime Minister Samdech Hun Manet during the inauguration ceremony of the Siem Reap Angkor International Airport.

The expansion project will start at the intersection of National Road 6 and the entrance to the airport to Siem Reap downtown, a total length of 20 kilometers, with an estimated cost of $60 million.  This means that the first phase will be constructed at the front of the Bakong Village since this project is conveniently located just 13 kilometers from the airport junction along National Road 6.

In a significant step towards further infrastructure development, the government has signed an agreement for the construction of the third expressway from Phnom Penh to Siem Reap (250 km) and a Siem Reap-Poipet expressway (150 km), totaling 400 km and costing about $4 billion. The project will be led by China Road and Bridge Corp (CRBC), starting at the 3rd ring road of Phnom Penh and extending to Poipet.

The improvement of infrastructure in Siem Reap will not only help ease the traffic but will also provide opportunities in areas such as:

Enhanced accessibility: Improved infrastructure makes it easier for people to travel to various parts of the country, extending connectivity, and boosting tourism.

Increased property value: Refined transportation infrastructure attracts businesses and individuals creating a buzz in the community and raising property values as more and more people desire the area.
